Tuition is due by the 5th of each month. If payment isn’t received by the 5th, a late fee of $5 per week will be assessed to the tuition due until it is paid in full. If checks are returned to me, you will be assessed any fees charged to me by my financial institution, any late fees, and tuition due. You will receive a notice should any of the above occur. Failure to pay tuition by the 20th of the month, without payment arrangements, may result in the inability to continue attendance at Darsie’s Doodlebug Preschool.
Thank you for your prompt payments. Tuition can be paid monthly, yearly, or bi-yearly. You can pay through our website, on Venmo @Darsiesdbps, with cash or with a check. Checks can be written to Darsie’s Doodlebug Preschool. Some families set up their bill pay with their individual bank and the bank sends the monthly check.Additional charges for late payments may occur see above.
While this is a private school, I do follow the Box Elder School District calendar. It seems to be easier for most families, especially those with older children. Please be aware of our school calendar, which is listed here, and is detailed, in each monthly newsletter. T/W/TH students will attend approximately 100 days.
Please have your child learn how to take care of ALL bathroom duties BEFORE school starts. While I realize that accidents do happen, your child needs to be potty trained to be at school! Please send your child with an extra set of clothes, in their backpack, to change into should the need arise. I will notify you when this happens.
If your child is sick, PLEASE keep your child at home so others won’t become ill. I will call you to pick up your child if they are sick at school. Be sure all immunizations are up to date. If your child is going to miss class, PLEASE call or text me so we are not expecting them. You are welcome to come and pick up a packet of missed work at the end of the school day/week. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in doing.
Children that have had a good night sleep, breakfast or lunch, and a HUG are happier in school!
We will celebrate each child’s birthday on their special day or on their 1/2 birthday. (If they have a summer birthday). Students can bring a simple birthday treat to share with their classmates if they choose too. Keep it simple. The treats do not need to be expensive or fancy.
- Every day after preschool, ask specific questions about the day’s activities. Refer to our monthly calendar for the numbers, letters etc. that we are learning and ask them to teach you the songs or skills we talked about.
- Feel free to come and visit. If you plan to stay for the entire class, please let me know ahead of time. When visiting – sing with us, play with us, and share. We love your support and enthusiasm for learning.
- The children will be ready and waiting to be picked up at the end of class. PLEASE BE ON TIME and WAITING in your car when your child’s class ends…especially in bad weather. If you are more than 10 minutes late, a $10 fee may be charged for each additional 10 minutes. We need to eat lunch and prepare for the afternoon class so every minute counts.
- Please read the Safety Reminders so that you will become familiar with drop off and pick up procedures.
- On THURSDAY’s I will send home the Snack Bag with a different student each week. The snack bag needs to be returned the following Thursday with that day’s snack for your student’s class! Please try to send healthy snacks. You may even want to be creative and send a snack that relates to our letters of the week! This is always fun for the kids! There is no need to send a drink; I have cups for water. WE ARE A PEANUT-FREE CLASSROOM! All other days, a small snack will be provided for your child.
- We go outside most days for activities. Please dress your child for the weather and in clothes that can be played and painted in! We get messy sometimes! Choose shoes that stay on and that your child can run in (sneakers work best). Please help your child practice putting on their coat independently! Please send your child with boots on wet snowy days. Please label all clothes, boots, mittens, etc. that come to school.
Drop Off
Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before class. If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes PLEASE wait across the street north of my house on 2700 S to prevent a backup and prevent the normal flow of traffic. I would hate to make my neighbors upset. You can also park around the corner next to my house facing east.
If the area in front of my house is full of waiting cars, please stay on 2700 South along the curb – facing east or west depending on which side of the street you are on, until spots open in front of my house/cul-de-sac.
A teacher will be out on that curb directing traffic to move to my curb section.
Please allow us to unload your children and follow this traffic flow.
If you insist on unloading your own child. You will need to head north on my street on 2700 S, park along the curb…being diligent in NOT blocking driveways and mailboxes. You will need to walk your child across the street. Please only park along my neighbor’s curb for a few minutes.
NEVER turn around in any of my neighbor’s driveways.
Remember to DRIVE SLOWLY on my street especially in my cul-de-sac.
Pick Up
Please be ON TIME to pick up your child after class. If you are more than 10 minutes late, a $10.00 fee for every 10 minutes will be assessed. We only have a limited amount of time to set up for the afternoon class as well as eat lunch.
Students will be waiting on the porch or grassy area. Children are not to run to you or your car. A teacher will load your child into the car. Please practice with your child to fasten their own seatbelt, or pull forward to stop and buckle it for them.

Use the bright yellow cards that have your child’s name on them so we can see whose parent is coming. It takes a while for us to learn which vehicle goes with each child. These yellow cards can be displayed in your car rear view window.
If you insist on loading your own child. You will need to head north on my street, park along the northeast curb…being diligent in NOT blocking driveways and mailboxes. You will need to walk across the street and up to the porch or grassy area to pick up your child. Do NOT call for your child to come to you.
NEVER turn around in any of my neighbor’s driveways.
